Data Protection
Last updated: 4 August 2026
Schools hold some of the most sensitive personal data there is: children's names, their attendance, their behaviour records, their academic progress, their safeguarding history. Any system that holds it carries a serious responsibility.
This page explains how we approach that responsibility. Our Privacy Policy covers this website specifically; this page is about our wider position on protecting school data.
The governing law
Eduskyline is an Egyptian company, and Egyptian law governs how we handle personal data.
Law No. 151 of 2020 on the Protection of Personal Data sets out the obligations that apply to organisations processing personal data in Egypt. It gives individuals rights over their data, requires a lawful basis for processing it, and imposes specific duties where sensitive data is concerned.
The law treats the personal data of children with particular care. Article 14 requires that sensitive personal data relating to individuals under the age of 18 is held on infrastructure physically located within Egypt, including backups.
We treat that as a design constraint, not a compliance exercise.
Where school data will live
The Eduskyline platform will be hosted on infrastructure physically located in Egypt. This applies to the live system and to backups.
We are currently completing procurement of Egyptian hosting infrastructure. No school data is held on the platform until that infrastructure is in place. All data currently in the system is synthetic test data created by us for development purposes.
We would rather delay onboarding than hold a school's data somewhere it should not be.
This website is separate
This marketing website is hosted on a global content delivery network and does not hold school or student data. The only personal data it collects is what you choose to send us in an enquiry — your name, your school, your role and your email address.
That distinction is deliberate. A public marketing site and a system holding children's records should not share infrastructure, and ours do not.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
How we think about school data
The school owns its data. When a school uses Eduskyline, the school remains the data controller for its students' and staff's information. We process it on the school's instructions, under a written agreement.
Access is scoped to role. Not everyone in a school should see everything. Our permission model reflects the real structure of a school, so staff see the data their role requires and no more.
Safeguarding information is treated as sensitive. Records relating to attendance concerns, behaviour and welfare are held with restricted access.
Data protection is built in, not added on. Access controls, audit trails and department boundaries are enforced by the system itself, not left to policy documents and good intentions.
Artificial intelligence
Some parts of the Eduskyline platform use AI to help teachers prepare and adapt teaching materials.
Identifiable student information is not sent to AI providers through Eduskyline's AI tools. The system is designed to prevent it.
Agreements with schools
Before any school goes live, we put in place a written agreement covering data processing, the school's rights and ours, security obligations, and what happens to the data if the relationship ends.
Schools evaluating Eduskyline can request these documents during procurement. Contact hello@eduskyline.com.
Your rights
If you are a parent, member of staff, or student and have a question about data held by your school in Eduskyline, please contact your school in the first instance. The school is the data controller and is best placed to respond.
If you have contacted us directly through this website and want to know what we hold, write to hello@eduskyline.com.
Under Law No. 151 of 2020 you may also complain to the Egyptian Personal Data Protection Centre if you believe your data has been mishandled.
